Meaning:

First your name is the motherland the earth; secondly you are the fundamental flow of divinity; thirdly you are the essence of all that is pure and good; fourthly you are the one seated upon the celestial swan; fifth thou art the one who supports the cosmos; sixth thou art the goddess of the divine sound, the divine word; seventh thou art the zenith of all existence; eight thou art known as the celestial unblemished one, ninth thou art the cosmic intelligence; tenth you are the wish fulfilling one; eleventh thou art the phases of the moon (ghantaa) in other words thou art time. Thou art also the wearer of the crescent moon. Twelfth thou art the goddess of the earth.

He who recites these twelve names of Goddess Saraswati attains divine vision, is blessed with intelligence and gets the grace of the divine mother. To that great Prakriti I surrender and bow with devotion.
